Nah ArenaNet hasn't taken any action and i don't think ever will they dont have any focus on Guild Wars anymore, thier busy working on Guild Wars 2,.which isn't a bad thing but as for next year or so players are on their own , ArenaNet doesn't even answer Support Tickets anymore...well...they do it just takes roughly 30 days to get around to it.

They did take action in the latest update as far as I know:
- The automated loading of a graphics.dll in the Guild Wars folder has been disabled; however, it is still possible to inject the dll manually

As far as I can tell by the first page of the QQ thread the dll is part of the botting.
And perhaps (not sure) A-net can now see who abuses the dll and take action.

Obviously they will react to this, but the right solution may not be as simple as we think.
For me, i have no damn idea about how should the bot problem be solved.

Their initial response with the .dll block is not really going to change anything but lay a few obstacles on the road for programmers.

They do take action. They just like to have this like thing called "proof" first. You know, server logs that convincingly show they are hacking/etc.

Proof.
And proof is not what is written elsewhere, it's needs to be more solid.
Just wait and see.

And remember, problems may persist for a very long time before it reaches the community....

Lol don't come up with Proof answer and other poo. I and 100+ people more have seen it. Proof enough. And the link at the second post with the pictures is your proof. And theres more on the forum itself about mesmer botting and MAT.

EDIT: Lol the guy with link deleted his post. GeeGee -_-

go to qq forums lol, someone posted the stupid bot... but thx to the Dll. file change anet have put in it makes using it a lot harder, as you know need to change coding. not saying that i do this, just i study computing and looked at the bot as a challenge to work out what it does. there are many bots around that use pixels on the screen to work out how to rupt but the Dll. ones are by far favourites for people to use atm. reporting people for botting will do very little, but it is still worth doing it just to make sure they dont all get away with it.

So when someone accuses you of doing something bad and make 100+ people see it and 'confirm' it, it's ok to ban you without investigating myself?
People telling stories is not proof. It's a source for further investigation.

Look, I know the bot tool exists.
I know people are using it. That's not the argument.
The argument is making a very clear distinction between a regular player and a bot. It could be that you can see the difference and maybe the 100+ people can also see that. However, that's not what A-net will be looking at.
They should not care about what you see, they should care about the actual data on the server, supposing PvP matches are perserved for some time.
If that data indicates that a player has indeed used a bot they could ban on breach of EULA. Else it's just hearsay.

It's a known issue, which ArenaNet is dealing with. They attempted a quick fix in a previous game update, which didn't work out, and are hopefully finding alternative solutions.

Keep your eye on future game updates.
